Jasper pedestrian killed in a hit and run crash

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash on U.S. Highway 69, near Seneca Road in Woodville, that occurred Friday, September 29th.
The preliminary investigation indicates that at approximately 7:40 p.m., a 2018 Dodge Ram pickup was traveling south and struck a pedestrian that was walking in the roadway and then fled the scene. The driver was located the following day.
The driver, identified as 18-year-old Raygan Picou of Sour Lake, was not injured.
The pedestrian, identified as 41-year-old Jason Williams of Jasper, was pronounced deceased on scene by a Justice of the Peace.
