PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
From Chief Garrett Foster
Jasper Police Department
Jasper, Texas — A federal grand jury seated in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas has returned multiple indictments against Tyrone Grant, who now faces a series of federal charges stemming from an extensive narcotics investigation led by the Jasper Police Department and partnering agencies.
Grant has been charged with:
Two counts of Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute actual methamphetamine
Two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute actual methamphetamine
Two counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person
This investigation began in late 2024 after the Jasper Police Department received multiple citizen complaints regarding illegal narcotics being distributed throughout the City of Jasper and surrounding areas. Several community members identified Grant as a major source of methamphetamine in Jasper County — information later corroborated by investigative work conducted by the JPD Safe Streets Division.
Working in close coordination with the Southeast Texas Violent Crime Task Force, detectives arrested Grant on two separate occasions for possessing and trafficking significant quantities of methamphetamine, while also being unlawfully in possession of firearms.
Authorities ultimately identified Grant as part of a larger drug trafficking organization operating within the region. Multiple additional members of this organization have also been federally indicted, with arrests expected. Grant additionally faces several state charges pending grand jury consideration in Jasper County related to this same investigation.
Chief Foster expressed appreciation for the extensive multi-agency cooperation that made this case possible, thanking:
