Jasper man arrested for threats made to a child

Jasper, TX Thursday evening at approximately 6:47 p.m., a Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to 220 County Rd 351 in Jasper regarding a person making threats towards the complainant’s 15 year old child.


The deputy arrived and made contact with multiple witnesses who stated their neighbor was under the influence and had threatened to kill the 15 year old child multiple times, including being specific as he would use a 12 gauge shotgun on the child. The deputy spoke with the suspect who was identified as 35-year-old Jesse Howard of Jasper who was under the influence of methamphetamines and was unable to explain what had taken place other than that he yelled at the child to stay on his own property.


After the investigation, Howard was placed into custody for Terroristic Threat, a Class B Misdemeanor. He was transported to the Jasper County Jail.


Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard wants the public to know that Howard is innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
