JASPER COUNTY, Texas — A Jasper man was arrested Thursday after investigators determined he was not in compliance with state sex offender registration requirements.
According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, on January 8, 2026, Sergeant Chris Wade arrested Jimmy Cauley, 62, of Jasper, for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements, a second-degree felony under Texas law.
Sheriff Chuck Havard said Cauley was found to be out of compliance and had failed to properly register as required. Following the investigation, Cauley was taken into custody and booked into the Jasper County Jail.
Sheriff Havard emphasized that compliance with sex offender registration laws is taken seriously in Jasper County.
“If any sex offender in Jasper County is deemed to be out of compliance, they will be immediately arrested and placed in our jail,” Havard said.
Cauley is innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office encourages residents to remain vigilant and to report any concerns related to sex offender registration compliance to law enforcement.
