Jasper Man Arrested Following Reported Assault on County Road 89

JASPER COUNTY, Texas — A 19-year-old Jasper man was arrested Tuesday night following a reported assault in a rural area of Jasper County, according to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.


On December 23, 2025, at approximately 6:09 p.m., Jasper County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 1300 block of County Road 89 in reference to an assault call. During the investigation, deputies determined that Ethan Hebert, 19, of Jasper, had allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, causing bodily injury.


Authorities reported that during the incident, Hebert also prevented the victim from calling 911 for assistance and damaged a vehicle by breaking out a window.


Based on the findings of the investigation, Hebert was arrested and charged with Assault Family Violence (Class A Misdemeanor), Interference with a Call for Emergency Assistance (Class A Misdemeanor), and Criminal Mischief (Class B Misdemeanor). He was transported to the Jasper County Jail.


As with all criminal cases, Hebert is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.


Sheriff Chuck Havard stated that he and his staff remain committed to combating criminal activity and protecting the residents of Jasper County.
