Jasper ISD issued a statement on the passing of Officer Chris Sherer

Today Jasper lost a great man, Christopher Sherer, our School Resource Officer at Parnell Elementary. He loved helping kids and was a great mentor to them on a daily basis, serving as a father figure to many. We are forever grateful we had an officer like him influencing our students. We are praying for his family, the students, faculty and staff at Parnell, as well as the Jasper Police Department.
