Jasper ISD Conducts Large-Scale Emergency and Reunification Drill

JASPER, Texas — Jasper Independent School District (JISD) successfully conducted a large-scale emergency and reunification drill Friday, bringing together educators, students, and first responders in a coordinated safety exercise designed to test and strengthen the district’s emergency preparedness.

The full-scale operation involved multiple agencies — including local fire departments, law enforcement officers, paramedics, School Resource Officers (SROs), and emergency management personnel — working alongside district staff to simulate real-world crisis conditions and evaluate communication and response systems.

Superintendent John Seybold commended the effort, saying the district’s commitment to proactive safety planning depends on the strength of its partnerships.

“I want to extend my sincere appreciation to all the first responders participating and to the entire Jasper ISD team for their professionalism and attention to detail throughout this intensive exercise,” Seybold said. “The commitment demonstrated by our staff and emergency leadership at both sites was outstanding and critical to the drill’s smooth execution.”

Students from Jasper High School volunteered to act out realistic evacuation and reunification scenarios, giving the district a clearer look at how its procedures perform under real-time pressure.

The data gathered from the exercise will be used to further fine-tune Jasper ISD’s communication and response systems.

“Thanks to the active and serious participation of all involved, we were able to get a clear picture of our strengths and identify areas to strengthen,” Seybold added. “Drills like this are essential to our commitment to keeping our learning community safe and prepared.”

Jasper ISD said it remains committed to ongoing collaboration with local public safety partners to maintain a secure and prepared learning environment for all students.
