On February 10th, 2025, at approximately 10:15 PM, we were contacted by the Giddings Police Department regarding a possible suicide at Bean Cemetery in Kirbyville. Unfortunately, when our deputies arrived, we located a deceased male. Our hearts and prayers are with the man’s family.

At 10:00 AM today, (February 11th, 2025), I am looking forward to giving “The Happy Pilgrims” with Hillcrest Baptist Church a tour of the facilities here at the Sheriff’s Office. I would encourage each and every citizen in Jasper County to come to the Sheriff’s Office and see what the men and women that work here are doing. Our jailers, administrative staff, telecommunications operators, investigators and patrol deputies are some of the best people in the state. Additionally, the inmate trustees are working hard to clean the jail facilities. They save the taxpayers lots of money. I am proud of the work they are doing throughout the county.

All persons listed in this report are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

It is an honor and privilege to be the Jasper County Sheriff. We will always work hard and give the citizens of Jasper County our very best. Please do not hesitate to call me if you need me.

Respectfully,

Chuck Havard

Jasper County Sheriff
