We would like to congratulate Jasper County District Attorney pro tem, Mr. John Burt. The relationship between a Sheriff’s Office and a District Attorney‘s Office is vital to the success of the criminal justice system. We depend on our District Attorney to ensure our cases are legally sound, well prepared and victims’ rights are protected. We look forward to working with Mr. Burt and his office. Congratulations Mr. Burt!

Over the past several weeks, numerous burglaries have been reported at carwashes and standalone ice machines in Jasper and Brookeland. Surveillance video from one of the burglaries was recovered and showed a suspect using a cordless grinder to cut the locking mechanism off the door before gaining entry into the building. Once the suspect made entry, a large amount of currency was stolen. An investigation was launched by Investigators with the Jasper County Sheriff's Office. During the investigation, a Texas DPS Trooper conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the Brookeland area that resulted in the arrest of the driver. During the routine inventory of the vehicle, numerous items believed to have been stolen from the previous burglaries were located in the truck. The DPS Trooper made contact with Investigator Lampman who advised the Trooper to place an investigative hold on the truck after impounding it. On 12/1/2025, Investigator Lampman, Investigator Starkie and Investigator Noel interviewed the subject who was the sole occupant of the truck during the DPS traffic stop. During the interview, the suspect denied any involvement in the burglaries. A search warrant was obtained for the suspect’s vehicle which was executed on 12/1/2025. During the search of the vehicle, numerous items that were reported stolen were located inside, along with a small amount of narcotics and keys to the lock boxes at one of the carwashes. Also located in the vehicle, was the grinder used to cut the locks, boots matching the ones worn by the suspect, a distinctive red glove the suspect was seen wearing in the surveillance video and a coin dispenser from one of the ice machines. After recovering the stolen property, it was returned to its rightful owner. On 12/2/2025, Investigator Starkie obtained four State Jail Felony warrants for the suspect, Amber Lynn Mock, 34, of Jasper, for the offense of Burglary of a Building and Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1. Mock is currently not in custody and is a fugitive from justice. If you have any information on the whereabouts of Amber Lynn Mock, please immediately contact the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office at (409) 384-5417.

On December 4th, 2025, the people of Southeast Texas showed up for the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office Association Golf Tournament. I’m happy to report that we brought $16,235.00 back home to Jasper County. Every penny will be spent on providing Christmas gifts for less fortunate children in Jasper County. We are very grateful for the generosity of Dr. Ray Callas, Jared Bishop and Texla Equipment. These men and their businesses worked extremely hard to make sure this event was successful.

On December 4th, 2025, Deputy Tipton with the Jasper County Sheriff's Office was on patrol in the Kirbyville area. Deputy Tipton stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The driver was identified as Rebecca Cofty Knight, 62, of Kirbyville. Knight showed to have an active warrant from Newton County for Credit/ Debit Card Abuse- State Jail Felony. The warrant was confirmed and she was placed under arrest. Knight was transported to the Jasper County Jail without incident.

On December 4th, 2025, I attended the Jasper County Shriner’s Club fundraiser at Rayburn Resort. The funds raised will be used for the transportation of kids to hospitals and gift cards for patients. This is a very caring organization and they make a very powerful impact on children’s healthcare. They change and improve lives globally. It was a great evening!

On December 4th, 2025, at about 8:08 p.m., Deputy Tipton with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 8000 block of County Road 451 in Kirbyville, in reference to a disturbance involving a knife. When deputies arrived, they identified the suspect as Jeremiah Beck, 38, of Kirbyville. The deputies conducted an investigation and learned that Beck produced a knife and threatened to harm family members inside of the home. Beck was then arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon- 2nd Degree Felony and transported to the Jasper County Jail.

On December 4th, 2025, at approximately 11:26 p.m., Deputy Daigle and Deputy Tipton with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 300 block of County Road 029 in Jasper, regarding a vehicle that had been parked in front of the caller’s home for a lengthy time. Deputy Daigle and Deputy Tipton arrived on scene and observed the vehicle in the road and appeared to be driving in reverse, swerving all over the road. Deputy Daigle activated his overhead lights to attempt a traffic stop on the vehicle. The vehicle then turned into a driveway and began evading the deputies. The driver of the vehicle drove behind a residence and his vehicle became stuck. Deputies gave verbal commands for the driver to exit the vehicle. When the driver exited the vehicle, he began to evade on foot. After a short foot pursuit, the suspect was placed into custody. The suspect was identified as Seth McNamara, 41, of Jasper. The deputies searched the vehicle and located an AR-15 style rifle. McNamara is a convicted felon. McNamara was arrested and charged with Reckless Driving- (MB), Evading Arrest Detention with Motor Vehicle Previous Conviction- (F3) and Unlawful Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon-(F3).

On Saturday, December 6th, 2025, members of my staff and I attended several functions in Jasper County. We started the morning at the Beech Grove Fire Department. We partnered with the Fire Department and Beech Grove Baptist Church to host a Fundraiser (Fish and Shrimp Fry) for the Loving Hearts Animal Society’s new clinic in Jasper (the former clinic of Dr. John Kahla). We raised $8,415.00 for this very important facility. We then went to PATV Powersports in Jasper and congratulated the owner, Brent Ritchey, for opening his business in our county. Brent has been in business for many years and this is a top-of-the-line ATV shop. Welcome to Jasper County Brent! Next, we participated in our Blue Santa “Fill up the Boat” event at the Family Dollar in Buna. We were able to collect a lot of toys and money to make several kids’ Christmas a lot brighter. We are very appreciative of all the people who came and provided money and toys. After that, Deputy Tipton and I were able to stop by and wish Dani West a Happy 4th Birthday! Her daddy called this morning and wanted a deputy to come by and wish her a Happy Birthday. It was a great time and Dani was glad to see our deputy. Happy Birthday again little lady! Finally, Chief Pulliam and several members of our staff left Family Dollar and traveled to Jasper with our boat to do another “Fill the Boat” event at the Texas Wine Shop in Jasper. We appreciate them hosting our event and we thank the “Bikers” for always stepping up and helping our causes.

On December 7th, 2025, at approximately 12:25 p.m., I received a call from a woman in Beaumont who reported that her mother was experiencing a medical emergency at her residence in Evadale, displaying symptoms of disorientation and immobility. Deputy Morgan, Deputy Tipton and I promptly responded to the scene. Upon arrival, we discovered an open window at the rear of the residence. Coach Morgan suggested that Dr. Tipton enter through the window. Dr. Tipton successfully gained entry into the house and located the woman, 88-year-old, Dorothy McShan. Shortly thereafter, family members arrived and transported Mrs. McShan to the care of relatives. These two former educators are making a profound impact in our county. As with our other three new deputies, these individuals have had distinguished careers prior to embarking on their law enforcement careers. All five of our new deputies have recently completed the FTO program and are now working as single-man units. This enables us to reduce response times and significantly increases our patrol visibility. I couldn’t be more proud of them and the exceptional service they are providing to the citizens of Jasper County.

I want to thank the people of Jasper County for their support and generosity. Y’all always come through and we appreciate it.

Everyone listed in this report is innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

We are here for you and your families, 24/7. It is a privilege and honor representing the people of this county.

Respectfully,

Chuck Havard

Jasper County Sheriff
