The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office enjoyed a double dose of community support on Saturday— first from Tractor Supply’s Hometown Heroes Foundation, and later from a local church that showed up with food, drinks, and homemade hospitality.
Earlier in the day, representatives from Tractor Supply presented a $500 donation to the Sheriff’s Office through the retailer’s Hometown Heroes Foundation program. According to Sheriff Chuck Havard, the funds will be used in areas that directly benefit the department and community.

“This money is greatly appreciated and we will ensure it is spent wisely,” Havard said. “Our men and women in uniform are extremely grateful for this recognition, and we want to sincerely thank Tractor Supply for this award.”
Later that afternoon, Pastor Charles Adams and members of Touch and Power of God Church delivered enough food to feed staff and inmates — including grilled sausage links, chips, drinks, and other supplies. Not only did the church donate the food, they cooked it on-site.

“We owe a great deal of gratitude to Pastor Adams and his church members for their generosity and kindness,” Havard said.
The Sheriff shared that the gesture meant more than just a meal.
“On behalf of myself, the staff, and our inmates at JCSO, we are extremely appreciative of the overwhelming amount of support we have throughout our county — from our churches to our businesses and from our everyday citizens,” Havard said.
“This type of support makes us more motivated to work even harder for the citizens of our county.”
Havard closed by thanking his staff for their ongoing dedication.
“They are making it happen from the top of our county to the bottom. It’s an honor and a privilege to work for the people of this county.”
