On Monday morning, Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard was presented a generous donation of $5,000 from Julie Alexander, a representative of Smurfit Westrock. That money will go towards a much needed patrol vehicle for the county.
Havard said that this thoughtful donation is indicative of a relationship built on 'mutual respect and a shared commitment to the safety of our community' and a long-standing partnership between Smurfit Westrock and local law enforcement.
“I can’t tell you enough how much we appreciate the generosity of Smurfit Westrock, they have supported law enforcement in this county for many years. Tax dollars are tight and this donation will come in very handy for a much-needed patrol car. Myself and the men and women of the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office are extremely appreciative of their kindness and this will benefit the citizens of Jasper County,” stated Sheriff Havard.
Havard added, "We are incredibly grateful for this continued support. It’s community partnerships like this that make a real difference."
