The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office hosted a free Ladies Self-Defense Class on Tuesday morning, drawing a full house of women eager to gain skills that could help them protect themselves and stay alert in daily life.
The course was led by Investigator David Lampman, who provided hands-on instruction with practical, easy-to-learn techniques aimed at empowering participants through awareness, confidence, and self-protection strategies.
“We were thrilled to see the turnout,” organizers shared. “Your safety matters, and we’re proud to offer resources like this to the women in our community.”
Due to overwhelming interest, the Sheriff’s Office plans to offer additional sessions, including after-hours and Saturday options, to ensure more women have the opportunity to participate.
The department extended thanks to everyone who attended and emphasized their ongoing commitment to community safety and empowerment.
East Texas Banner will share future class announcements. You can also follow the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook or check with the office directly.
