Jasper County is investigating the death of a child in Evadale

Saturday morning at approximately 11:53 a.m., the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a 5-month-old baby boy who was not breathing at a residence on Cr 877 in Evadale.

Deputies and members of the Evadale Fire Department responded immediately and attempted life saving measures. Unfortunately, the child was pronounced deceased by Judge Steve Conner at 12:17 p.m.

An autopsy has been ordered and J.C.S.O is conducting a child death investigation.

Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard said, "Our hearts and prayers are with the child and his family."
