Jasper County Commissioner Dennis Marks has been recognized for completing an advanced course of study in county government through the Commissioners Court Advanced Curriculum (CCAC).
Marks received his Certificate of Achievement from the County Judges and Commissioners Association of Texas (CJCAT) during the organization’s 103rd Annual Conference held Oct. 6–9 in Galveston County.
The CCAC program represents the highest level of voluntary education available to county officials in Texas. It includes over 64 hours of instruction, with courses in:
Phase I: Orientation – 16-plus hours
Phase II: Basics – 16 hours
Phase III: Electives – 32 hours
The CJCAT, which represents more than 1,200 active members statewide, promotes professional development and leadership among county officials. The CCAC program exceeds the minimum continuing education hours required by state law.
Commissioner Marks, who serves Jasper County Precinct 4, said completing the program early in his first term reflects his dedication to the office and the citizens he represents.
“I am honored and proud to have received my Commissioner’s Court Advanced Curriculum certificate at the 103rd Annual County Judges and Commissioners Association of Texas conference,” Marks said. “This training goes above and beyond the state-mandated education requirements. I accomplished this within my first three years in office, demonstrating my commitment to serving Jasper County and Precinct 4. Thank you — it’s an honor to serve the fine citizens of Jasper County.”
The recognition underscores Marks’ ongoing commitment to effective and transparent county government.
