BEAUMONT, TX — A Jasper County man has been indicted on federal drug trafficking charges following two methamphetamine-related arrests earlier this year, according to Acting U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs with the Eastern District of Texas.

Steven Wade Earle, 30, is accused of possessing more than 50 grams of methamphetamine on two separate occasions — once on January 2, 2025, and again on February 25, 2025.

A federal grand jury returned a two-count indictment this week, formally charging Earle with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

If convicted, he faces up to life in federal prison.

The investigation is being led by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, with assistance from the Jasper County Sheriff's Office, Texas Department of Public Safety – Criminal Investigations Division, Texas DPS Highway Patrol, and the U.S. Marshals Service. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan C. Lee.

An indictment is not evidence of guilt. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
