Jasper County makes drug arrest on Hwy 96 in Jasper

Buna, Tx.

On February 20 th, 2025, a Jasper County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 96 near Shady Lane in Jasper. The traffic stop was initiated because the vehicle did not have the headlights on. The deputy contacted the driver and identified her as Lacey Howard, 34, of Buna.

Howard was showing signs of nervousness and the deputy suspected criminal activity. She denied a consent to search and Jasper PD K9 came to assist. The K9 alerted on the vehicle and a search was conducted. Located in the vehicle was a crystal like substance believed to be methamphetamines. A meth pipe and a snorting pipe was also located inside the vehicle.

Ms. Howard was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance (SJF) and she also had a warrant for Bail Jumping (MA). She was transported to the Jasper County Jail.

Ms. Howard is innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
