An armed robbery suspect is behind bars after Jasper County deputies spotted the stolen vehicle on Highway 96 and moved in fast.

The arrest took place Friday afternoon, June 20, 2025, just over an hour after authorities say 38-year-old Justin Keith Colley of Village Mills committed an aggravated robbery at Silsbee Ford. According to officials, Colley allegedly pulled a gun on a car salesman and stole a Ford Mustang from the dealership around 2:07 p.m.

Law enforcement across the region was quickly alerted, and a be-on-the-lookout was issued for the stolen vehicle. At approximately 3:30 p.m., while on patrol south of Buna, a Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted a Mustang matching the suspect vehicle's description.

After running the license plate and finding it returned to a different vehicle, the deputy called for backup. Once support arrived, deputies initiated a felony stop at the intersection of Highway 96 and County Road 729, just north of Buna.

Colley was taken into custody without incident and is now facing Aggravated Robbery charges in Hardin County, with additional charges pending in Jasper County.

“Because of Deputy Jacob Spivey’s vigilance while on patrol this afternoon, this violent criminal will be off the streets of Southeast Texas and Jasper County,” said Sheriff Chuck Havard. “I want to thank Deputy Spivey for acting quickly and professionally.”

Colley is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
