Jasper County arrested wanted fugitive and finds drugs in Cougar Country

On February 10, 2025, at approximately 7:20 am, a Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputy was patrolling in Buna in Cougar Country. The Sheriff’s Deputy was searching for a wanted fugitive identified as Briar Brister, 20, of Buna.
Mr. Brister had three misdemeanor warrants. The deputy located Mr. Brister and arrested him for the warrants. During a search incident to arrest, a small clear bag with a crystal like substance was found on Mr. Brister. The substance is believed to be methamphetamines.
He was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (SJF) and FTA warrants out of Jasper County. He was arrested and transported to the Jasper County Jail.
Mr.Brister is innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
