The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Kirbyville Police Department, hosted ALERRT level 1, Active Shooter Response course on February 17-18.

The two day course was instructed by Jasper S.O. Lieutenant Chad Ainsworth and Jefferson County S.O. Captain James “Radar”Riley. This training gives officers the tools they need to respond to active shooter events.

The training was held at Kirbyville High School. These training events are generally held at local schools to help familiarize officers with the layout of the facilities.

We want to thank Kirbyville P.D. Chief Paul Brister, Jasper County SRO Deputy Larry Armstrong and the Kirbyville Independent School District for their help in making this training possible.
