JASPER COUNTY — On February 1, 2026, a Jasper County deputy responded to a report of illegal dumping on County Road 278.
According to Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard, Deputy Tipton was dispatched to the scene and located identifying information within the dumped trash. That information allowed the deputy to identify individuals believed to be responsible for the illegal dumping.
While there was not enough evidence at the time to file formal charges, the individuals agreed to return to the site and remove all of the discarded trash.
Sheriff Havard reminded residents that Jasper County provides multiple designated dumping sites for proper trash disposal and warned that illegal dumping will not be tolerated.
“If you’re caught dumping, and we can prove it, you will be issued a citation or arrested,” Havard said.
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office encourages residents to use authorized disposal locations and to report suspected illegal dumping to local law enforcement.
