Human remains discovered in Tyler County

In a press release, Tyler County Sheriff, Brian Weatherford said, "On December 16th, the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a residence on County Road 4120. Deputies and Investigators arrived on the scene and located what appeared to be a human jawbone.

A search of the historical residence and property was conducted and Investigators did not locate any other possible remains. The homeowner, family members, neighbors, and witnesses were interviewed. Investigators are checking the cemeteries in the area dating back as far as the late 1800s.

The evidence collected will be sent for forensic analysis to be

conducted by the Department of Public Safety."
