Fugitive Wanted Out of Jasper County Arrested Near Buna

NEWTON COUNTY, Texas — On Friday, August 22, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Newton County Sheriff Colton Havard, along with Texas Game Warden Landon Spacek, executed an arrest warrant at 315 Private Road 7820 off Sheppard Road.

The warrant was for Jayson Davis, who was wanted out of Jasper County on a State Jail Felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Authorities say Davis was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Newton County Jail.

Sheriff Colton Havard commended the cooperation between law enforcement agencies in safely executing the arrest.
