JASPER, TX — Armed with a community tip, members of the Jasper Police Department and the Southeast Texas Violent Crime Task Force located and arrested fugitive Dajuan Banks, 35, on Tuesday evening, September 30, 2025.
Authorities say Banks, who was wanted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in connection with the assault of a nine-year-old boy in Beaumont, was taken into custody without incident around 6:30 p.m. at a local business where he had been working.
The Jasper Police Department noted that it maintains a dedicated officer on the Southeast Texas Violent Crime Task Force, a partnership that continues to bring fugitives into custody across the region.
In a statement, JPD commended the public for stepping forward with information. “Community involvement is vital in bringing fugitives to justice,” the department emphasized, reminding residents that tips and cooperation often play a decisive role in closing cases.
Banks is expected to be transferred to Jefferson County to face charges.
