In an effort to combat the ongoing opioid crisis, ETCADA will host a free Naloxone (Narcan) training session for the public on Tuesday, August 19, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Kountze Public Library.
The training is open to concerned parents, educators, community leaders, and anyone else interested in learning how to respond to opioid-related emergencies. Each participant will receive a free Narcan kit upon completion.
Narcan is a life-saving medication that can rapidly reverse a Fentanyl or opioid overdose with minimal to no side effects when administered properly — even if the individual has no opioids in their system.
This initiative is made possible through a partnership between ETCADA and Be Well Texas, with support from the Greater Longview United Way.
“Providing Narcan training and kits is one more step toward protecting our students, families, and broader community,” said ETCADA representatives.
