Fourth and Final Suspect Arrested in Jasper County Copper Theft Ring

JASPER, TX — The fourth and final suspect connected to an organized copper theft ring targeting Jasper County has been taken into custody, according to Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard.
On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, the Jasper Police Department received an anonymous tip regarding the whereabouts of Trey Price, who had been wanted in connection with a felony theft involving entry into a truck on Verna Street.
Members of the Jasper Police Department Safe Streets Division, along with the Southeast Texas Violent Crime Task Force, located a vehicle associated with Price at a residence on Dennis Drive. Patrol officers and K9 units responded to the scene, assisted by deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.
A male at the residence advised officers that Price was possibly inside the home. Jasper Police K9 Mak was deployed and successfully located Price hiding under a bed. She was taken into custody inside the residence and later transferred to Jasper County deputies.

Price was previously identified as the fourth suspect in an organized copper theft operation that targeted multiple Jasper-Newton Electric Cooperative electrical substations and other businesses throughout Jasper County. The investigation, led by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, resulted in earlier arrests of three other suspects on charges of Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, a third-degree felony.
Authorities also stated that Price is a person of interest in multiple ongoing investigations being conducted by the Jasper Police Department Criminal Investigations Division.
The Jasper Police Department expressed appreciation to the public for their assistance, emphasizing that tips from citizens played a critical role in locating the fugitive.
