EVADALE, TX-
Two weeks ago, June 25th at around 9:30 pm, an Evadale resident witnessed a tractor truck pulling a roll off dumpster trailer offloading a load of construction debris south of Thomas Road just off Hwy 105 in Evadale.
According to the report, before the dumping occurred, the resident pulled up alongside the truck which then reversed, and backed in to the Entergy Substation. The unnamed resident said that he assumed at this point that the truck was just turning around, so he parked and went inside his home.
Jasper County Lieutenant Chad Ainsworth said that it wasn't long before the resident heard the unmistakable sound of something being dumped. Ainsworth said that the resident immediately returned to the substation, but was unable to find the truck. However, the next morning the man located a large pile of debris at the TXDOT road material location just south of Thomas Road on Hwy 105.
Ainsworth said that on June 26th, the resident was able to give a very detailed description of the truck. He then saw the truck later that day at J3 Recycling. A deputy was dispatched and the driver was identified as 45-year-old Arquimedes Chavez Cordova of Baytown.
Cordova was arrested and charged with Illegal Dumping >5lbs<500lbs which is a Class B Misdemeanor. Justice of the Peace Precinct 6, Judge Steve Conner set his bond at $2,000 which he posted and was released yesterday.
As always, this individual is considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
