Evadale man arrested for possession of methamphetamines and paraphernalia

Evadale, TX On Tuesday morning, the Jasper County Sheriff's Office received a call regarding a man at the Dollar General store in Evadale who appeared to be intoxicated.
Lt. Chad Ainsworth was dispatched to the store located on SH 105 in Evadale to speak with the man. Upon arrival, he was identified as 60-year-old William Floyd Smith of Evadale.

While speaking with Smith, he admitted that he was in possession of drugs and syringes. As a search was being done, Ainsworth located a baggie of methamphetamines as well as the syringes.
Smith was then arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1 >=1G<4G- a 3rd Degree Felony. He was arrested and brought to the Jasper County Jail.
As always, Smith is considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
