WOODVILLE, Texas — Sheriff Bryan Weatherford has announced an employment opportunity within the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office for a full-time jailer position.
The position offers an annual salary of $46,960.40, with a full benefits package that includes paid training and licensing, medical and vision insurance, life insurance, paid time off, and retirement through TCDRS. The posting will remain open until filled.
According to the sheriff’s office, the jailer role includes overseeing the daily care and custody of inmates, maintaining safety and order within the jail, preparing reports and records, distributing mail and medications, and appearing in court hearings as needed.
Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
At least 18 years of age
Valid driver’s license
Ability to complete Field Training and pass a background investigation
Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Additional skills in communication, decision-making, and multitasking are required.
