JASPER COUNTY — Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers are investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday evening, December 9, 2025, on State Highway 63 East near Farm-to-Market Road 1408.
According to DPS, the collision happened around 7:05 p.m. when a Chevrolet passenger car traveling eastbound struck a Chevrolet pickup that had entered the highway from the FM 1408 intersection. Preliminary findings indicate the pickup driver failed to yield, leading to the impact.
Inside the passenger car were the driver and two juveniles — a 14-year-old and 12-year-old. DPS confirms none of them were injured, a rare blessing given the circumstances.
The pickup driver, identified as 61-year-old Marshall Jones of Cleveland, was transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
DPS states that no additional information is available at this time as the investigation remains ongoing.
