The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Southeast Texas Region has identified the driver involved in an 18-wheeler crash that occurred Friday morning, January 9, 2026, at the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 1013 and Farm-to-Market Road 1005 in Mt. Union — the second such rollover at the location in less than 24 hours.
According to DPS, troopers were called to investigate the crash at approximately 10:43 a.m. A 2007 Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer hauling logs was traveling westbound on FM 1013 when it reportedly entered a curve at an unsafe speed and overturned.
The driver was identified as 49-year-old Deandre Limbrick of Jasper. He was transported to a Beaumont-area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to DPS.
The crash occurred just hours after another 18-wheeler rollover was reported at the same intersection late Thursday night, prompting multiple emergency responses and temporary road closures. That earlier incident involved Tri - Community volunteer fire department and kept crews on scene for several hours.
No additional information has been released, and DPS says the investigation into Friday’s crash remains ongoing.
Following the back-to-back incidents, residents and first responders have expressed growing concern about safety at the FM 1013 and FM 1005 intersection.
