Deputy arrests two in Sunset Community near Evadale

On January 31, 2025, at approximately 9:30 PM, a Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputy was patrolling County Road 828 in the Sunset community in the Evadale area.
The deputy observed a suspicious vehicle pull into a private residence. The deputy made contact with the owner of the property and the property owner did not know why the vehicle was there.

The deputy then identified the driver of the vehicle as being James Paul Marie, 33, of Vidor and the passenger as being Heather Lynn Pacovsky, 38, of Vidor.

The deputy initiated an investigation and he suspected criminal activity was present. The deputy obtained consent to search their persons and probable cause to search the vehicle. The deputy located a white crystal like substance believed to be methamphetamines inside the vehicle and arrested James for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Pacovsky was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Marie and Pacovsky were transported to the Jasper County Jail. Both are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
