Evadale, Texas — The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two juveniles in connection with a robbery and assault that occurred Friday night in Evadale.
According to Sheriff Chuck Havard, deputies responded on October 24 to a residence in Evadale after receiving reports of a possible assault earlier in the evening. During the investigation, evidence revealed that the suspects — a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old — had allegedly assaulted a 16-year-old victim and stolen money from him during the incident.
On October 25, Deputies Spivey and Tipton presented probable-cause affidavits to Justice of the Peace Precinct 6 Steve Conner, who issued warrants charging both individuals with Robbery (Second-Degree Felony).
The 17-year-old was booked into the Jasper County Jail, and the 15-year-old was transported to the Hardin County Juvenile Detention Facility.
“This is an unfortunate situation. Hopefully these two young men will learn their lesson, but they have to be held accountable for their actions,” said Sheriff Havard.
The sheriff’s office emphasized that both suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Because of their ages, their names and photographs will not be released.
