DALLAS, Texas — A deadly shooting unfolded outside the Forest Lane Walmart in Dallas on Wednesday afternoon, leaving two women injured and the suspected gunman dead from what authorities believe was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The incident occurred around 3:20 p.m. in the heavily trafficked parking lot as shoppers filled the store and surrounding area. According to Dallas Police, a man reportedly tracked his romantic partner to the Walmart, confronted her in the parking lot, and opened fire — striking her and grazing a female bystander.

Both women were transported by Dallas Fire-Rescue to a local hospital, where officials say they were stabilized and are currently listed in stable condition.

An off-duty officer later located the suspected shooter inside a vehicle in the same parking lot. Police say he was found deceased from what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Multiple weapons were recovered at the scene.

Investigators say no additional suspects are believed to be involved, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. The store was temporarily closed as detectives processed the scene.

The motive remains under investigation, though early indications point to a domestic-related confrontation.
