BUNA, TX- Wednesday night, at 11:15 p.m., a Jasper County Deputy was on patrol on Hwy 96 just north of Buna, when he stopped a vehicle for a registration violation.
The driver gave the deputy consent to search the vehicle.

During the search, the deputy discovered a digital scale behind the seat with what appeared to be residue from methamphetamines on it.

While searching the occupants, a passenger, 47-year-old Christopher Alan Cormicle of Colmesneil was found to be in possession of 23.5 grams of methamphetamines and a small amount of marijuana.
Cormicle was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substances PG1>4g<200g, a 2nd Degree Felony, and was transported to the Jasper County Jail.
Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard said, "The methamphetamine epidemic affects our entire region and we are going to do everything we can to eradicate it in Jasper County and keep it away from our families. I want to thank our men and women in uniform for their hard work and dedication."
As always, Cormicle is considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
