Can You Identify This Person? Newton ISD Police Investigate Stolen School Bus

NEWTON COUNTY, Texas — The Newton Independent School District Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in the theft of a school bus early Thursday morning.
According to Newton ISD Police, at approximately 2:40 a.m., an individual pictured in surveillance footage, along with an accomplice in a separate vehicle, stole an unoccupied school bus from Newton Middle School.
The bus was later located in Merryville, Louisiana, and was safely recovered and returned by school staff. No students were involved, and no injuries were reported.
Newton ISD Police are working closely with detectives from Beauregard Parish and Vernon Parish as the investigation continues. Authorities believe this incident may be connected to other school bus thefts reported in Vernon Parish, and leads are currently being pursued.
Surveillance footage captured images of the suspect, and investigators are hoping the public may be able to help identify the individual.
