JASPER COUNTY, Texas — A follow-up investigation into a burglary that occurred several months ago in Cougar Country led to the arrest of a Buna man on a parole warrant Wednesday morning.
According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, on January 7, 2026, at approximately 8:30 a.m., Criminal Investigation Division (CID) investigators were conducting follow-up interviews related to the burglary. While interviewing a potential suspect, Randal Jeans, 41, of Buna, investigators discovered he was wanted on an active parole warrant issued by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).
Jeans was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jasper County Jail.
Sheriff Chuck Havard emphasized the department’s continued commitment to public safety and accountability.
“I can assure the people of Jasper County that we are going to do everything we can to apprehend thieves, fugitives, and people that are engaged in criminal activity in our communities,” Havard said. “As I begin my second year in office, our deputies will be working just as hard, if not harder, in year two than they did in year one.”
Sheriff Havard added that the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office remains focused on combating criminal activity throughout the county.
As with all cases, Jeans is considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
