On Tuesday, a Buna couple filed a report with the Jasper County Sheriff's Office regarding a missing rifle. The rifle was kept in a gun safe so others would be unable to access it, but it was the couples son who allegedly stole it.
According to the report, 27-year-old Brett Matthew Jolly of Buna stole the weapon from his parents and then immediately pawned it at a local pawn shop. The rifle was recovered and a warrant was issued for Jolly's arrest.
Jolly was arrested and transported to the Jasper County Jail. He was charged with Theft of a Firearm which is a State Jail Felony.
As always, Jolly is considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
