Buna man arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon

On Friday, April 18th, at approximately 4:00 pm, the Jasper County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the 38000 block of Hwy 96 South in Buna regarding an armed trespasser.

Upon arrival, the deputy learned that the complainant confronted the suspect for trespassing. The suspect, identified as 59-year-old Jamie Lee Brooks of Buna, then pointed a shotgun at the complainant in a threatening manner and walked away.

Brooks was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a second degree felony, and placed in the Jasper County Jail.

Brooks is innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
