Buna ISD Students Earn Welding Certifications, Bring Home Competition Honors

BUNA — Several students from Buna High School recently demonstrated their technical skill and dedication by earning welding certifications and placing in a competitive welding contest, earning recognition for both certification achievements and top finishes.


Students competed across multiple levels, with several bringing home podium placements:


Level 1 Certifications

  • Olivia Johnson – Level 1 Certification, 8th Place

  • Jace Dillion – Level 1 Certification

  • Mark Fry – Level 1 Certification

  • Talen Griffin – Level 1 Certification

  • Aiden Harding – Level 1 Certification


Level 2 Certifications

  • Braxton Ferguson – Level 2 Certification, 5th Place

  • Trinton White – Level 2 Certification

  • Jeremy Griffis – Level 2 Certification, 1st Place


Advanced Competition Results

  • Grayson Sterling – Level 3 Certification, 1st Place

  • Grayson Sterling – Cutting Contest, 3rd Place


Buna ISD officials praised the students for their hard work and commitment to mastering skilled trades, noting that welding certifications open doors to high-demand careers and provide students with valuable, industry-recognized credentials before graduation.


These achievements highlight the strength of Buna ISD’s Career and Technical Education programs and the dedication of both students and instructors in preparing students for real-world success.
