Brookeland Man Arrested on Felony Theft Warrant

A Brookeland man was taken into custody on a felony warrant Monday evening.

At approximately 5:29 p.m. on November 17, 2025, Deputy Gray of the Jasper County Sheriff's Office received word from JCSO Communications that Billy Jean Cloud, 51, was wanted by Lee County authorities on a first-degree felony charge of Theft of Property valued over $300,000.

Acting on this information, Deputy Gray proceeded to Cloud’s residence at 270 Longleaf in Brookeland, where Cloud was reportedly arrested without incident.

Cloud was then transported to the Jasper County Jail.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

Sheriff Chuck Havard reaffirmed the department’s dedication to addressing crime throughout Jasper County.
