GRAND BLANC, Mich. — A Sunday morning worship service turned into chaos as gunfire erupted at a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc, Michigan, leaving multiple people injured and the church building engulfed in flames.
Authorities confirmed that multiple victims have been shot, though the exact number and conditions remain unclear. Officials added that the suspected shooter is “down,” and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The blaze inside the church was still active as emergency crews responded. Firefighters and police urged residents to avoid the area while they worked to contain the fire and secure the scene.
Local officials have established a reunification site for family members and churchgoers separated during the incident.
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer issued a statement, saying: “My heart is breaking for the Grand Blanc community. We are monitoring the situation closely and supporting local authorities as they respond.”
This remains a developing story. ETB will provide updates as more details — including the number of victims, the shooter’s identity, and the cause of the fire — become available.
