The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office wrapped up a full day of Blue Santa events on Saturday, and according to Sheriff Chuck Havard, it was a “huge success” from start to finish.
Thousands of Toys Collected at Rayburn Toy Bash
The afternoon kicked off at Lake Sam Rayburn with the Toy Bash fishing tournament, where anglers didn’t just cast lines — they showed up ready to give. Sheriff Havard said the turnout was outstanding, with many thousands of dollars in toys collected for Jasper County children.
“We appreciate Clint Wade and his organization for allowing the kids of Jasper County to benefit from this,” Havard said. “Thank you to all the volunteers who worked so hard to make this successful.”
And for the fishermen?
They didn’t leave empty-handed either — several walked away with prize money and a great day on the lake.
Blue Santa Concert Packs the Jasper County Airport
Saturday night, the community flowed into the Jasper County Airport for the annual Blue Santa concert, an event featuring live music, food, entertainment, and that unmistakable holiday spirit Jasper County is known for.
“It was great seeing so many familiar faces,” Sheriff Havard said. “The food and the music were great, and there were a lot of people who worked really hard to make this happen.”
From volunteers to organizers to attendees, the Sheriff emphasized one theme repeatedly:
This county always comes together.
A Community Effort With Real Impact
Blue Santa helps ensure local kids receive gifts for Christmas, and this year’s turnout underscores the generosity and unity Jasper County continues to display year after year.
“We certainly appreciate the hard work and the generosity of so many people,” Havard said.
