Beech Grove VFD Responds to 18-Wheeler Wreck on Highway 190 Near Dam B Bridge

JASPER COUNTY – During heavy morning fog, first responders were called out to U.S Highway 190, west of Jasper, that occurred Tuesday at 7:12 am. 

 

The Department of Public Safety Media Sergeant Shana Clark said, "The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 7:12 a.m., a 2015 Mack truck tractor towing a 2007 Common trailer and a 2017 Kenworth truck tractor were traveling west. It is reported that the driver of the Mack failed to control his speed while approaching a stop light in the heavy fog and struck the Kenworth in the rear."

 

The driver of the Mack, identified as 37-year-old Micheal Chatman of Natchez, Ms. was not injured.

 

The driver of the Kenworth, identified as 60-year-old Larry Brown of Warren, was also not injured.


Both trucks were able to leave the scene with very little damage.

The Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department is currently on the scene of a wreck involving two 18-wheelers on Highway 190 near the Dam B bridge. The wreck occurred just before 7 this morning.


While there are no reported injuries, the accident is impacting traffic in the area.


Authorities are urging drivers to use caution as visibility on the bridge is reportedly reduced to approximately 100 feet. Motorists traveling along Highway 190 should expect delays and exercise extra caution while driving through the area.
