We recently reported on a man from Kyle, Texas who burglarized The Barn Feed Store in Kirbyville. Early this morning, that same man was caught in the process of burglarizing Tractor Supply in Buna.
Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard said that at 5:28 this morning, his Deputies were alerted and responded to a burglary in progress at the Tractor Supply store in Buna.
Once they arrived, Deputies discovered evidence that someone attempted to steal merchandise from the fenced in area outside the building. It wasn't long before Deputy Matt Harrell located 37-year-old Brett Joseph Atkins hidden inside the fenced in area.
Atkins was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief- State Jail Felony, Theft Class A Misdemeanor, and Criminal Trespass Class B Misdemeanor.
Atkins was transported to the Jasper County Jail.
Sheriff Havard said, "Atkins is considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law, but I’m glad this man has been arrested again. Apparently, he has nothing better to do than steal other people’s property."
Havard added, " I want to thank our deputies for the job they are doing for the citizens of Jasper County. They are working hard and being vigilant."
