Arrest made in San Augustine runaway case

A 25-year-old Newton man has been arrested in the case of the missing 15-year-old girl from San Augustine. The girl was recently found safe.

The man who helped her to run away and then hid her, Bradley Joseph Leblanc, has been charged by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office with

Harboring Runaway Child (Class A Misdemeanor) and Burglary of Habitation (2nd Degree Felony). JP3 Mike Smith set bonds totaling $525,001.00.

Leblanc remains in custody at this time.
