Armed Robbery Reported at Buna Family Dollar; Sheriff’s Office Seeks Public’s Help

BUNA, Texas – The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery that occurred Sunday evening at the Family Dollar Store located at 34900 Highway 96 South in Buna.
At approximately 8:50 p.m., two Black male suspects entered the store while displaying firearms. According to Sheriff Chuck Havard, the suspects demanded money and began removing cash from the register.
The robbery was interrupted when a customer entered the store, triggering an audible alarm at the back door. The two suspects then fled the scene on foot.
Deputies arrived within minutes but were unable to locate the individuals. Sheriff Havard said deputies worked through the night and continue to actively search for the suspects.
“This investigation is ongoing, and we are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying these individuals,” Havard said.
