An auto-pedestrian accident left a Nacogdoches man dead

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal crash on state Highway 103 East, near the San Augustine County Line, that occurred Friday, October 6.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 8:59 p.m., a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling west. It is reported that a pedestrian was walking west alongside the outside traffic lane and was struck by the Chevrolet. An investigation into the driver revealed that she was intoxicated.
The driver, identified as 39-year-old Tara Lyons of Center, was not injured. Lyons was placed under arrest and charged with intoxication manslaughter.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on the scene by a Justice of the Peace. He is identified as 44-year-old Jeremy Stone of Nacogdoches.
