An 18-Year-Old From Buna and Another from Orangefield Lost Their Lives in a Thursday Night Accident in Hardin County

HARDIN COUNTY –
On Thursday evening, July 31st, at around 11:33 p.m., a Hatch's Tow Truck was traveling North on Farm-to-Market Road 92, near the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 1122. According to the Department of Public Safety report, the driver of a Honda Accord failed to yield the right-of-way to the tow truck when it pulled from a gas station parking lot and was struck.
The driver of the Honda, identified as 18-year-old Riley Ard of Buna was pronounced deceased on scene by a Justice of the Peace. Ard's passenger, 18-year-old Tracyn Brady of Orangefield was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital where he was also pronounced deceased by medical staff.
The condition of the tow truck driver is unknown at this time.
