Accidental shooting near Toledo Bend

ACCIDENTAL SHOOTING INVESTIGATION – Tall Timbers, Toledo Bend:

On Saturday, January 27 at 9:51pm, Newton County Sheriff's Department received a call of an accidental shooting that occurred in the 200 Block of Tall Timbers at Toledo Bend.

The Caller stated that she accidently shot her husband in the lower abdomen.

The victim was prepared for transport by Toledo Bend Volunteer Fire Department First Responders. He was transported by Allegiance to Jasper Memorial Hospital and was later transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston and is currently listed in critical condition.

This is an active investigation and updates to this case will be provided when new information becomes available.
