JASPER COUNTY, Texas — On November 13, 2025, at approximately 4:26 p.m., Jasper County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Calvin Starkie arrested Susanna Mendoza, 26, of Jasper, following a fast-moving criminal investigation involving allegations of illegal communication with a juvenile.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began several days earlier after the victim’s parents discovered inappropriate messages and nude photographs allegedly sent by Mendoza to their 12-year-old son. The child has since turned 13.
Sheriff Chuck Havard said the parents acted quickly, contacting law enforcement and allowing investigators to immediately begin gathering evidence.
Mendoza was taken into custody and charged with Solicitation of a Minor, a second-degree felony. She was transported to the Jasper County Jail.
Sheriff Havard emphasized the urgency of the case, noting that Investigator Starkie had to move swiftly because authorities believed Mendoza was in the country illegally and had threatened to flee. He stated that the appropriate federal authorities will be notified.
“Sheriff Chuck Havard and his staff are committed to combating criminal activity in Jasper County. I appreciate the hard work of Investigator Starkie,” Havard said.
Mendoza remains presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
